Webspyshield – a New Threat to Your Computer
Before I tell you about WebSpyShield let me tell you a bit about myself and my credentials so you will feel secure that the knowledge I impart to you is fact. I am a computer professional who has worked with computers over the last 20 years. I’ve done building and repair, tech support, programming, and IT. I am a Microsoft Certified Professional trained to work on and network Windows machines. I spend time researching threats to computers so that I know what is out there I may come across. I learn how it behaves and how it is spread so that I will know when a computer in my care is infected and then know how to remove said threats.
WebSpyShield is one such threat. Like many other rogue, or fake, anti-spyware programs this one is installed onto your computer through the Vundo or Zlob trojan. Once on your computer WebSpyShield generates misleading security pop ups and fabricates scan results. WebSpyShield then tries to convince you that the only way to remove these threats is to buy and install the full version. That is this rogue anti-spyware’s main purpose, to separate you from your credit card number. If you do opt for the full version then WebSpyShield installs more spyware onto your computer. Any spyware on your computer is a compromise to your security. Passwords, bank account information, credit card numbers, and personal information can all be logged and sent to the creators of the program leading to any number of unpleasant things from your credit cards being maxed out to identity theft.
Removing WebSpyShield is a challenge. Most anti-spyware programs out there only remove about 80% of the infection. This does you no good with programs like WebSpyShield. Programs like WebSpyShield will reinstall and update itself if any file is missed. Manually removing the program can be done, but it is best left to a professional as it is time consuming and dangerous as it involves going into the registry where it is possible to remove a file Windows needs to operate.
How do you remove WebSpyShield if most anti-spyware programs only get some files and WebSpyShield reinstalls itself? There is a new program out there that has really been doing well. This is the only anti-spyware program on the market that gives you a 100% removal guarantee. This program is SpyZooka. I have used SpyZooka on several machines and am always impressed at how easy it was to deal with a problem that would have taken me hours to take care of in the past. To ensure SpyZooka stays up to date the people at BluePenguin(the creators of SpyZooka) employ a robot that hits millions of web sites a day looking for new threats. Then SpyZooka updates itself on a daily basis with cures for the new threats found. You don’t have to take my word for it. SpyZooka has been winning awards for how easy and completely it removes spyware since its release in January 2008.
